Anna Daley - artisan
I have collaborated with Anna Daley and did some experimentations regarding her creative process, visual identity and her relationship with craftmanship. After learning how to knit as a child she never stopped and has explored hand, machine and finger knitting as she traveled and explored.
The time we spent together led me to do live sketching while she was learning natural dying or knitting for her orders. We decided to use this illustration material and developed a colouring book explaining the knitting process to kids with games and easy facts. She uses some bags I screen printed to wrap her products. I also explored and animated my drawings for Anna to use them in her online communication. I recorded Anna’s voice, comments, feelings about her methodology, relationship with colour, process and did an experimental video for one of her show in Odemira, Portugal.
